Three SC34 standards are under systematic review and JTC1 is requesting our confirmation to keep or withdraw them as continuing SC34 standards. As a default ballot, I have proposed actions for each of the three:
ISO 9069:1988
JTC 1/SC 34/WG 1
Information processing -- SGML support facilities -- SGML Document Interchange Format (SDIF)
Proposed action:: Confirm
ISO/IEC 10744:1997
JTC 1/SC 34/WG 3
Information technology -- Hypermedia/Time-based Structuring Language (HyTime)
Proposed action:: Confirm
ISO/IEC 19757-2:2003
JTC 1/SC 34/WG 1
Information technology -- Document Schema Definition Language (DSDL) -- Part 2: Regular-grammar-based validation -- RELAX NG
Proposed action:: Confirm
National bodies not agreeing with the above proposed actions please inform me as soon as possible.
For those curious why I am suggesting we confirm SDIF, there was talk in Seoul in WG1 about considering revising SDIF to include a ZIP-compatible form. While no explicit action was dictated for SDIF, though there was talk about standardizing ZIP, keeping it on the books for another cycle won't be out of line.
