Description : ISO/IEC 10036: 1996
"Font information interchange -- Procedures for registration of font-related
identifiers"
Information : This International Standard specifies the procedures to be followed by the
Registration Authority in preparing, maintaining, and publishing registers
of identifiers which identify font-related objects. The purpose of these
registers is to provide a common reference source to be used in the creation
and interchange of font resources.
The registration process aims to be comprehensive, to assign unique and
unambiguous identifiers, and to avoid changes in identifiers over time.

Currently, only the glyph identifier and glyph shape are provided online, and the rest of the data in the Glyph Database remains offline. This is largely due to the lack of funds for implementing an automated database. In order to implement the rest of the functionality of the glyph database and to sustainably operate the database for a modest length of time, the registrar, on behalf of the registration authority, has applied for some modest funds and grants from a couple of research and development programs within the country, and still awaiting the result. Once the fund is acquired, the functionality of the Glyph Database will be improved greatly, but in the meantime, the Database will continue to be provided in the simplest form of web technology.
