WG3 accepts N375 as an incomplete final text of SMDL that conforms to 10744:1997 and asks National Bodies to solicit resources for the work necessary to complete the text.
WG3 accepts WG8/N1985 as the final text of Amendment 1 of 10744 HyTime and requests the Secretariat to forward it for publication. WG3 withdraws Technical Corrigendum 2 to 10744 HyTime on the grounds of lack of resources to complete the work and lack of user demand.
WG3 appoints David Cooper of Antech Systems as Defects Editor for 13240 ISMID. WG3 further thanks the Japanese National Body for N337 and accepts N357 as TC1 for ISMID to rectify the defects identified therein.
WG3 submits N358 as a New Work Item Proposal for additional work items on topic maps. The Editors of the Reference Model are instructed to produce a new draft based on N344 and discussions held in Baltimore and to be continued by email in time for the next meeting. WG3 also requests input from National Bodies regarding the canonical syntax to be used for conformance testing.
WG3 instructs the Editors to prepare a new version of the Standard Application Model based on N356, and issues resolved in Baltimore, and to forward it for publication as a Committee Draft.
WG3 instructs the Editors to prepare a new version of the Roadmap to the Topic Map Standards.
WG3 recommends that the topic map standard be structured as follows:
WG3 acknowledges a comment from the UK National Body regarding the publication of N356 less than 2 weeks before the WG meeting and will endeavour to ensure that, in future, numbered documents are distributed in good time before meetings.
WG3 accepts N373 as its Program of Work.
The next WG3 meeting will be held on May 25, 2003 in London, England (in connection with IDEAlliance's XML Europe 2003 conference).
WG3 expresses its thanks to Patrick Durusau for capturing informal minutes of the meeting and posting them to the WG3 mailing list.
