Welcome to Editor's Report n3468, which is for the Standard Drafts n3467 (the first draft of 2025).
You can read the last draft's editor's report here.
This report is before the February Graz, Austria 2025 meeting. It was mostly about cleaning up things missed in the post-Graz mailing list, powered mostly by Joseph Myers's several (nearly 3-dozen) submitted changes and a few outside changes.
Almost all of the changes were editorial. There was important reversion from an accepted outside editorial change that had come in VIA e-mail.
One non-editorial change was the addition of N3349. This was approved in Minneapolis, but we forgot to integrate it (oops). It is integrated in the n3467 and is part of the frontmatter listing and listed changes in Annex M.
The change to the definition of "modifiable l-value", and the core definition of "l-value" itself, was not exactly appropriate and had come from a mis-application of a previous paper's change. So, both definitions of l-value and modifiable l-value were corrected in the 2 places; we apologize to the person who sent the suggestion in and received an e-mail back from us saying it was accepted. Normally, they would be correct to have noticed such a change, but the premise of the change for modifiable l-value was based on, unforutunately, a change from a paper that wasn't meant to be included.
The application of "Official Function Nomenclature" was more or less changed; the definitions were tweaked, and one that wasn't going to be used yet was removed ("function body block").
There was bad syntax highlighting in a <stdmchar.h>
example; it turns out LaTeX's processor for strings is not attuned to most escape sequences from C. So, the example was slightly modified.
Everything else seems to be alright, though!
The new paper submission system is still taking time. Yes, even now. Lots to do, little time, tiredness all around.
Happy New Year, here's to hoping we can survive 2025 intact!
