Announcement
Meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5
Hosted by the British Standards Institution
August 6-10, 2007
BCS Headquarters, 1st Floor, Davidson Building,
5 Southampton Street, LONDON, WC2E 7HA
The next meeting of WG5 will be held at BCS Headquarters, LONDON, UK,
from August 6-10, 2007. The local organizers are Jane Sleightholme
(Email: jane.sleightholme@kcl.ac.uk, Cellphone: +44 (0) 7985 038 392)
and Ian Chivers (Email: ian.chivers@chiversandbryan.co.uk,
Cellphone: +44 (0) 7985 055 652).
1. OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
The major items of business for this meeting will be:
A. Review the current working draft for the next revision of Part 1 of
the Fortran Standard.
B. Reaffirm or modify the timetable in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N1590 for
the revision of Part 1 of the Fortran Standard.
C. Consider the defect reports (interpretations) in J3-006.
2. ORGANIZATION OF THE MEETING
At the start on Monday and the end on Friday, this will be a normal
WG5 meeting. For the rest of the time, the meeting will be a joint
meeting with J3. Much of the time will be spent in sub-groups of all
the delegates present. There will also be plenary sessions, either of
WG5 with John Reid in the chair or of J3 with Dan Nagle in the chair.
The exact timings will be agreed between John and Dan from day to day.
Note that Friday is a full working day, as in Delft and Fairfax. This is
because the meeting room is not available on a Sunday. Essentially, Sunday
to Thursday have been shifted to Monday to Friday and we have skipped the
short session that we previously had on Friday. Closing business for both
J3 WG5 will be late on Friday afternoon. Please plan to be available until
6 p.m. on Friday.
3. DOCUMENTS
It is essential that all delegates have access to the Fortran 2003 DIS
(N1601), the current working draft for the revision of Fortran 2003
(J3-007), and the defect reports (J3-006) at the meeting.
Delegates should also bring N1590 and all documents from N1649 onwards.
4. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS
The local hosts have prepared a separate document (N1671) with
details of local arrangements.
5. REGISTRATION
Heads of delegations are reminded that the names of those who will be
in their delegations should be communicated to both the Convener and
the hosts no later than one month before the start of the meeting.
