Announcement
Meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5
May 9-13, 2005
NEN, Vlinderweg 6, 2623 AX Delft, The Netherlands
The next meeting of WG5 will be held at NEN, the Dutch Standardisation
Institute, Vlinderweg 6, 2623 AX Delft, from May 9-13, 2005.
The local organizers are Matthijs van Waveren (waveren@fujitsu.fr) and
Toon Moene (toon@MOENE.INDIV.NLUUG.NL).
1. OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
The major items of business for this meeting will be:
A. Considering the Repository of Requirements (SD5) and making a
preliminary choice of significant features for the next revision
of Part 1 of the Fortran Standard.
WG5 will consider whether changes, including additions should be
made to the Repository and will make a preliminary choice of
features of severity level 5 and above, as defined in N1594.
B. Considering the defect reports (interpretations) in J3-006.
WG5 will advance the processing of the defect reports and, if
appropriate, prepare the first Corrigendum for Fortran 2003.
2. ORGANIZATION OF THE MEETING
At the start on Monday and the end on Friday, this will be a normal
WG5 meeting. For the rest of the time, the meeting will be a joint
meeting with J3. Much of the time will be spent in sub-groups of all
the delegates present. There will also be plenary sessions, either of
WG5 with John Reid in the chair or of J3 with Dan Nagle in the chair.
The exact timings will be agreed between John and Dan from day to day.
Note that Friday is a full working day. This is because the meeting
room is not available on a Sunday. Essentially, Sunday to Thursday
have been shifted to Monday to Friday and we have skipped the short
session that we usually have on Friday. Closing business for both J3
WG5 will be late on Friday afternoon. Please plan to leave (as early
as you like) on Saturday.
3. DOCUMENTS
It is essential that all delegates have access to the Fortran 2003 DIS
(N1601), the Repository (SD5), and the defect reports (J3-006) at the
meeting.
Delegates should also bring N1594 and all documents from N1597 onwards.
4. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS
The local hosts will be Matthijs van Waveren (waveren@fujitsu.fr) and
Toon Moene (toon@MOENE.INDIV.NLUUG.NL), who have prepared a separate
document (N1616) with details of local arrangements.
5. REGISTRATION
Heads of delegations are reminded that the names of those who will be
in their delegations should be communicated to both the Convener and
the hosts no later than one month before the start of the meeting.
