ACCESS to FUKUOKA

The following are three alternative routes to reach Fukuoka:

  1. Direct flight to Fukuoka International Airport

    2. There are direct flights to Fukuoka International Airport from more than 20 locations including Seoul, Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore.
     
  2. Via Kansai International Airport

    3. Kansai International Airport is located in near Osaka.  There are many flights to Fukuoka.
     
  3. Via Narita International Airport

    4. a) Narita International Airport is located in near Tokyo.  There is only few flights from Narita to Fukuoka.  Please check with your travel agency.
    b) There are frequent flights to Fukuoka from Haneda Domestic Airport located in Tokyo.  To reach Haneda Airport by ground transportation, use of a Keihin-kyuko line train is the most recommended.  It goes directly to Haneda Airport from Narita Airport.
    c) A bullet train named Tokaido Shinkansen is also available from Tokyo to Fukuoka. It will take approximately six hours.
     
PASSPORT, VISA and VACCINATION

Participants are advised to check regulations regarding passport, visa and vaccination and particularly regarding length of notice for obtaining a visa, if required, with their travel agency.  If you need any documents for acquisition of visa, please contact host (kimura@itscj.ipsj.or.jp) immediately.

Hakata Tokyu Hotel is offering special room rate. Participants wishing to stay at the hotel are required to send the RESERVATION FORM (See Attachment 3) to the hotel directly.

- By subway from Fukuoka International Airport
Take subway and get off at Tenjin Station. It's about 11 minutes from the Airport to Tenjin. From the station to the hotel is about a 5-minutes walk.

- By taxi from Fukuoka International Airport
About 20 minutes (depending on trafic condition)

- By Taxi from JR Hakata Station
About 5 minutes (depending on trafic condition)
