Meeting: Tokushima, Japan Title : IRG #11 Resolutions |
IRG#11 made the following resolutions:
Resolution IRG M11.1 : DAM-13 (IS/HS)
In response to IRG N550 and IRG N551, IRG resolves to instruct the IRG editor to draft a corrigendum for WG2 to specify the sources of 1 ideograph from G7 and 87 ideographs from G8. IRG, thus, will not request any correction of the source data in DAM-13.
IRG further agrees that China will add a special note on the related documents to clarify the source of those characters originated from JIS X 0208. Therefore, IRG will not propose a removal of those characters from DAM-13.
Resolution IRG M11.2 : pDAM-15
IRG resolves to insist on including the CJK Radical Supplements into pDAM-15. IRG instructs its Rapporteur to take necessary actions to include both KangXi Radicals and CJK Radical Supplements in pDAM-15.
Resolution IRG M11.3 : EXT-A font requested by Unicode.
In response to the formal request from Unicode, IRG resolves to supply a camera-ready copy of EXT-A to Unicode for Unicode Standard version 3.0.
Furthermore, members are urged to assist Unicode Consortium to obtain approvals from font vendors to use the fonts for the printing of the Unicode code table.
Resolution IRG M11.4 : Block names for Stage-1 and Stage-2 characters of plane-2
IRG resolves to use block names CJK UNIFIED IDEOGRAPHS EXTENSION B" (EXT-B) for Stage-1 and CJK UNIFIED IDEOGRAPHS EXTENSION C" (EXT-C) for Stage-2 of CJK Unified ideographs in plane-2 of ISO/IEC 10646-2.
Resolution IRG M11.5 : EXT-B printing format
IRG members agree that the printing format of EXT-B of plane-2 of ISO/IEC CD 10646-2 for WG2#35 in London should be in a 5-column format as in ISO/IEC 10646-1 DAM-13.
If members cannot provide a national font in time for WG2#35 in London, they may request to use the fonts provided by other IRG members.
Resolution IRG M11.6 : Ideographic Description Sequence
IRG accepts IRG N576, the working draft of Ideographic Description Sequence.
Furthermore, IRG instructs its Rapporteur to forward IRG N575R and WG2 N1433 to ISO/IEC 10646-1 editor and to start a discussion on the submission to WG2.
Resolution IRG M11.7 : EXT-B schedule for plane-2 CJK characters.
IRG resolves to adopt the schedule and action items outlined in IRG N574F. The characters should be submitted in 96 by 96 electronic images to the Editor by 1998.06.15.
Resolution IRG M11.8 : the unification rules for plane-2 CJK
IRG members with the abstention of U.S.A. agree to use the unification rules specified in IRG N567 for all CJK characters of EXT-B.
Resolution IRG M11.9 : Printing format of CJK characters in R-zone.
IRG recognizes the issues raised in IRG N577 and instructs its Rapporteur to forward this matter with IRG N577 attached to WG2 for consideration.
Resolution IRG M11.10 : EXT-C sources
IRG resolves to accept the source lists, IRG N568R and N514, for inclusion in EXT-C. Furthermore, the Rapporteur is instructed to consolidate the two documents into IRG N579 as the final source list for EXT-C.
