1.12 Note where we are in the current C23 scheduleWe are in the second and final week of ballot resolution for CD1 9899. As soon as possible afterward, there will be a CD2, followed by a DIS.
Only an abbreviated report will be made at this meeting.
2.1 ISO TS status
ISO/CS has rejected the idea of Technical Specifications that define extensions to a standard. This conflicts with the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2, which states that one purpose of TSes is for topics that are under development. The convenor is working with the SC 22 committee manager to explain this better to ISO/CS, as it affects almost all SC 22 TSes, not just those from WG 14. We will keep the committee up to date.
If we have to stop producing TSes, ISO has suggested that the same material could be published as SC 22 whitepapers.
No reports expected for this meeting.
The TS 6010 DIS ballot was rejected by ISO/CS due to their new ruling about TSes. The final disposition has not yet been determined due to negotiations with ISO/CS about TSes.
