To: WG5
From: J. Martin, Acting Convenor
Subject: Informal Ballot on 17 Defect Responses

I sent a WG5 distribution to my Print Plant for copying and mailing yesterday.
It contains an informal ballot on 17 defect responses. A copy of the ballot
is attached below. A copy of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 - N1070 (which contains
the ballot responses) will be sent in a following message.

=== WG5 informal letter ballot on N1070 items.....closing date Jan. 13, 1995 ===

The titles of the 17 items are listed below, "Y" indicates the "Yes" column
(without comments), "wc" next to "Y" represents the "Yes-with-comments"
column, and "N" indicates the "No" column. Comments or reasons may be inserted
after each item or listed following the ballot. An acceptable electronic
response might be simply "Yes on all items" or "Yes on all items except ..."
It is not necessary to return the ballot below in this case. To supply a
comment or a reason for a no vote, please use the following format:

number vote lastname (or country) text For example:

28 Y Martin In the discussion, replace "local implicitly typed scalar"
	       with "local, implicitly-typed scalar"

This helps with sorting the results. Electronic responses to the ballot are
preferred, but fax and post are acceptable so long as they meet the deadline
of Jan. 13, 1995. This deadline was chosen in order that the results could
be available for the 132nd X3J3 meeting.
