A total of 20 people voted on these items; there were lots of comments
(most of which you've already seen), including from non-voting members
of the Fortran community. The voting results are:

1. Allocatable Components 10-10 fails

2. Elemental Procedures 14-6 passes

3. Automatic Deallocation 13-7 passes

Since allocatable components is a WG5 requirement for Fortran 95, I
believe that we need to take another look at it in Boston, in connection
with the ballot comments; I will be asking the OOF subgroup to make a
recommendation for the full committee to vote on by the end of the week.
If the action is to approve a revised proposal then this item will go
into 009 integration mode; if it is to delay this item until F2000, then
after the meeting I will need to go into "emergency" mode with WG5 (as
provided for in one of the WG5 resolutions).

Based on this vote, Elemental Procedures and Automatic Deallocation are
now in integration mode for inclusion in Fortran 95.

The Sept 16 version of 007r2 will be on the server, if not today, by
early next week. All proposals/fixes/etc should be based on this
document, not the F90 standard, to be updated for 007r3 (scheduled for
mid-Oct). Following the last meeting I instructed the editor to put all
of the 009 into 007r2, as well as all four of the ballot items.
Obviously, any of this material that is not approved will be removed at
the November meeting.

Except for the special action noted above on allocatable components (and
we still have to see how the ENABLE vote comes out - that's another WG5
requirement for Fortran 95), I expect that in November /OOF, /parallel,
and /JOR will focus on various 007r3 integration issues; specific such
assignments to these subgroups will be made later, but generally each
will be responsible for areas in 007r3 that involve material they were
involved in developing. As for the ballot items, all of the associated
comments will be available to help the subgroups with this work.

All for now. Remember, the ENABLE ballot ends two weeks from today.

Jerry
