Subject: DIS Ballot Results on Varying Strings

The ballot result was 22 yes, 0 no, 2 abstentions.

Comments were received from France, Netherlands, and UK.

The Summary from ITTF states, "This draft has therefore been approved in
accordance with the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1, subclause 2.6.3."

The cover letter from Joe Cote (SC22 Secretariat) states, "Please note that
the revised text and the disposition of comments report should reach ITTF
before 1994-10-06.

Countries voting yes were Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China,
Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands,
Norway, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, UK, USA.

Countries abstaining were Ireland, Sweden.  Countries not voting were 
Morroco, Ukraine.

The following Observer countries also voted yes: Czech Republic, Greece,
Mongolia.

The comments will be mailed in a second WG5 distribution.  For nonX3J3
members, that distribution will also contain X3J3/94-007r1 (the draft of
Fortran 95).
