Subject: WG5 Ballot on Corrigendum 2

A WG5 distribution was put in the mail today. It contains a ballot on X3J3's
responses to 49 defect items. Attached below is an electronic version of the
ballot. Electronic response is the preferred (by the Convenor) method of
response.

Other news items:

1) The SC22 ballot on Corrigendum 1 closed on February 18 with no negative
votes and no comments. According to new procedures, the SC22 ballot and the
JTC1 ballot on corrigenda are supposed to be simultaneous, but when Joe Cote
of the SC22 Secretariat called the JTC1 Secretariat to learn the results of
the JTC1 ballot, the JTC1 Secretariat could not locate the document even
though Joe had documentation that it was sent on Oct. 16, 1993. JTC1 is
rushing out a distribution, but at this time the closing date of the JTC1
ballot is not known.

2) The DIS ballot on 1539-2 (Varying Strings) closes on May 18, 1994.

3) The latest draft of the WG5 Repository is included in the distribution. It
is also available on the FTP server at ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu in the directory
sc22wg5 with the name N970.Z.

(without comments), "wc" next to "Y" represents the "Yes-with-comments"
column, and "N" indicates the "No" column. Comments or reasons may be inserted
after each item.
