Subject: X3J3 Interpretation ballot
X-Charset: ASCII
X-Char-Esc: 29

Hi,
It has been suggested that I send a copy of this letter ballot to the
S22WG5 email. My apologies to those who will be receiving duplicate
copies.

X3J3 is holding a letter ballot on the current set of interpretations that
have status "X3J3 draft response.". While only members of X3J3 can
have a vote in the letter ballot, comments from non-members on any
of the interpretations being balloted are welcome and appreciated.
Our goal is to write correct interpretations. Early feed-back from
WG5 members will help us achieve that goal.

The current draft of 93-006 is available through the ftp server:
ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu:
   In directory x3j3:
   93-006Ar2.0.Z
   93-006Ar2.100.Z

Thanks.
Janice C. Shepherd.

To X3J3 -

This is the 006 post meeting 126 ballot. This ballot is being
conducted by email. No hardcopy will be mailed. Please respond
by email. If you are unable to respond by email please contact
me. Please let me know if you have any concerns about the ballot.
The ballot will end at midnight Sept 20th.

I've requested a paper number for the ballot and it will be included
in the premeeting distribution for meeting 127.

It has been suggested that it would be useful if I could provide
to X3J3 a list of any comments on the interpretations sorted
by interpretation number. To help me achieve this goal please
use the following format for comments:
  - indicate the interpretation number, whether the comment is with
a Yes or No vote and your last name beside the first line of
    your comment. For example:

0 Y Shepherd The start of a comment .....
                 more comment......
5 N Shepherd Text of the comment .....

Thanks.

========= letter ballot X3J3 93-246.....cut-off date Sept 20, 1993 =========

X3J3 approval of Fortran 90 defect management items in document X3J3/93-006
as updated at the end of meeting 126.

There are 33 items in 93-006 that have the status "X3J3 draft response".
These 33 items are listed below, together with boxes to indicate your
approval (Yes or Yes-with-comments) or disapproval (No) of each item.
Any disapproved items must be accompanied by reasons, either in
the space provided or in text at the end of the ballot.
[email note - in the list below, "Y" indicates the "Yes" column (without
comments), "wc" next to "Y" represents the "Yes-with-
comments" column, and "N" indicates the "No" column]

As the latest version of 93-006 has been distributed, a copy of the
interpretations being balloted is not included. The version of the
93-006 that is basis of the ballot was distributed on Aug 6th 1993.
The summary section at the top of that 93-006 incorrectly showed
the status of interpretations 12 and 114 as X instead of D. The
status field in the text of the interpretation is the correct one
(namely "X3J3 draft response").

Following this ballot, those items approved, together with those already
having the status "X3J3 approved; ready for WG5" in 93-006, will be
forwarded to WG5 for further processing as Fortran 90 defect management items.
