Subject: Message for X3J3 re ISO technical corrigendum
X-Charset: ASCII
X-Char-Esc: 29

Mike being away in Africa, I have been conducting a fax correspondence with
Keith Brannon of ISO. I am faxing his latest fax to you. I had sent him a
copy of s20.74 as a specimen. He sends me an example of a published
Technical Corrigendum and says
You will note that it provides only the basic information and none
of the commentary present in your example (this kind of information
is deleted after the defect is confirmed as a Technical
Corrigendum, this would not preclude however the committee
responsible for the standard from maintaining a list of the defect
reports with all the items you mention).

If I modify s20.74 according to his specimen, I get:

   Page 158

   Subclause 11.3.2

Line 28, change the term "no entity is referenced by this name" to "the
name is not used to refer to an entity".

I see this as just fine, except that I would prefer to omit the word
'Subclause'. In addition, I suggest that the subset of s20 that is
fully approved by wg5 be made available on a ftp server and/or be
published in Fortran Forum, and be referenced it in the Technical
Corrigendum.

Have a good week.

John.
