WG5,

J3 has made minor changes to the draft TR on Enhanced Module Facilities
to clarify meaning and clean up the BNF terms. There was no significant
technical change to the proposal. The revised draft is N1580 and will be
available on the server soon. In the meantime, is it visible as

ftp://ftp.numerical.rl.ac.uk/pub/wg5/N1580

It is also J3 document 03-259r3.

I need to know that I have the approval of WG5 to send this to SC22 for
its 3-month PDTR ballot. Procedures for a TR are simpler than for a
standard, but this is very like an FCD for a standard. If all goes well,
we can make minor changes, then hold a DTR ballot after which only very
minor corrections are permitted. I am hoping that the May joint meeting
of WG5 and J3 will be able to construct both the DIS for Fortran 2003
and the DTR. Here is my proposed schedule:

19 Nov - 17 Dec. WG5 ballot
End Dec. Send to SC22
Early Jan to early April. PDTR ballot
Mid April. Ballot result available
2-7 May. WG5 & J3 work on it.

However, if this ballot exposes any serious problems, I want us to work
on those problems and delay the PDTR ballot. Any minor suggestions will
be considered by me and the editor, Van Snyder, and the draft modified
as we think best. We will keep you informed of what we do.

This is a WG5 letter ballot. I would like both personal votes (anyone
may vote) and country votes.

Best wishes,

John.
