Dear WG5,

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my email on the name. It is a
typical 'bicycle shed' issue of course and it has been my aim a
convener to avoid spending a lot of plenary WG5 time on it. However,
we will need to decide in Dresden whether to stay with 'Fortran 2000'.
My reading of the email is that 'Fortran 2003' is the only serious
contender and that most people can see merit both in staying with
'Fortran 2000' and changing to 'Fortran 2003'. I propose to
take a simple straw vote at Dresden, including votes from those not
there, and to restrict discussion.

Based on your email, here is what I think your votes are:

Craig 2003
Dan 2000
David 2003
John 2003
Kurt 2003
Lawrie 2003
Makki 2000
Mallory 2003
Michael 2003
Mike M 2000
Miles 2000
Richard 2000
Van 2003
Walt 2003

Please will you tell me (PRIVATELY, please) if I have it wrong for you
or if you would like your name and vote added.

As you see, we err towards changing at the moment (9-5).

Cheers,

John.
