As some of you might know, I live in Berlin (actually next door to
Templehof, one of its three airports). For the moment, it is unclear as to
whether I'll be able to make the Dresden meeting, but I'd be happy to give
advice anyone might want about Berlin.

In particular, please note that is possible to fly direct to and from Berlin
from London Stansted for truly low prices with Buzz (www.buzz.co.uk). The
earlier you book, the lower the price. Stansted is north of London and south
of Cambridge. There are direct trains from London and from Liverpool and all
points in between. There is a direct train from Berlin Schönefeld to Dresden
that takes 110 minutes.

There are, of course, flights between London Heathrow and Berlin Tegel with
BA and between London City and Berlin Tempelhof with Airwings (Lufthansa).

You can consult rail timetables and book tickets in Germany directly at
http://www.bahn.de/ot_start/online_ticket_start.shtml, and consult UK train
timetables at http://www.rail.co.uk/ukrail/planner/planner.htm

Regards,

Mike Metcalf
