In particular, please note that is possible to fly direct to and from Berlin from London Stansted for truly low prices with Buzz (www.buzz.co.uk). The earlier you book, the lower the price. Stansted is north of London and south of Cambridge. There are direct trains from London and from Liverpool and all points in between. There is a direct train from Berlin Schönefeld to Dresden that takes 110 minutes. There are, of course, flights between London Heathrow and Berlin Tegel with BA and between London City and Berlin Tempelhof with Airwings (Lufthansa).
