WG5,

David Muxworthy has reorganized the index for our email archive.
The messages themselves are held in the SC22 ftp server
    ftp://dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC22/WG5
and its automatically generated index is huge (covering 1991 to the
present), inconvenient to use since there are no links to the messages,
and includes spam. The new index is organized by years, excludes spam,
and has links to the messages themselves. It is held on the WG5 site and
is accessible through the WG5 home page
    http://www.nag.co.uk/sc22wg5/
Please try it and tell us what you think of it.

The downside to the new index is that it is not automatically generated.
David and I have not yet decided which of us will update it and how often.
There is still a link to the old index from the new index for this year,
so you are certainly not worse off than formerly. Your opinions re the
frequency with which it should be updated would be appreciated.

Spam continues to be a plague, but to me and not to you. Any message that
is not from an authorized email address is forwarded to me. If it is
genuine, I sent it on to you and ask David to add the new address to our
list of senders, but that is rare. At the moment, we get far more spam
than genuine messages.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank David for this new index
and all the quiet work he has done over the years on the email list.

Best wishes,

John.
