Subject: Frame and SGML
X-Charset: ASCII
X-Char-Esc: 29

I spent yesterday afternoon at Frame Technology
in San Jose. IF, IF, IF, they can do what they claim
they will do, I am pretty convinced that we can use
Frame to maintain the document and produce Frame,
PostScript, SGML, and ASCII (as well as paper) versions
for use by others. They were not able to demonstrate
that they can produce SGML documents with the version
available.

I think I even see a way to generate the syntax
cross references in Annex D.

Another interesting bit of information is that
software that allows you to read a Frame document
(but not modify it) is available on a Mac or PC
for $30. The Unix version is more, but they claim
that the price will come down.

I will bring information to the next X3J3 meeting.
