Van told me that he had problems getting a room at the Vencourt.
Unfortunately, David has just left for a trip and will not be back in
the country until 20 July.

I therefore 'phoned the hotel and had a very strange conversation. I
was in a very weak position since I do not know with whom David made
arrangements or what arrangement he made. She at first said she knew
nothing about us but eventually said she had a room for Van!

If you are planning to come to the London meeting, please try
to book your room very soon. If you have difficulties, let me know
and I will see if I can help.

Best wishes,

John.
