I agree with Dick. BSI and a large number of UK Universities use Wordperfect
which is an option not included in Jerry's list. The other large group use WORD
but there are a number of other popular wordprocessors in widespread use.
The only open system common denominator is SGML. Translators which allow
text formatters to be used on SGML text exist for a number of products,
Latex certainly, I think there is some wordperfect capability in this direction
and there are many other products in the pipeline to provide links to other
popular wordprocessing/textformatting systems. There is also
no difficulty in transmitting SGML text electronically
but WORD and or Wordperfect files could cause problems.
