We are trying to find the total number of sites in the U.S. and the World that have a portfolio of professional Fortran code. It's not the names of the sites we're after, just an _estimate_ of the total number of institutions. Clearly, this is tough problem! I am aware of top500.org, but this isn't the whole answer. If any of you have any insights, sources, personal or website-based data that has industry numbers, industry statistics, and so on that might help me in this guessing at this number, U.S. and World, it would be sincerely appreciated.
