Subject: Re: (SC22.1442) Lawrie Schonfelder

Thank you for the news about Lawrie. I appreciate knowing about this.

I am writing to you about another matter.

The APL standard for APL Extended got bogged down a couple of
years ago and our time limit ran out.

This year, we submitted the document for re-registration, and
have since made corrections in preparation for submission of
the final document.

The final vote has been postponed at the request of the UK
delegation.

This document is worthy of support, and it had significant
UK input in its preparation (David Ziemann was the major
contributor.)

I would appreciate your support for this document, if you
can see your way clear to give it.

Since the UKs APL Working Group is no longer meeting, the
APLers in the UK no longer have a voice, but there are still
significant users there.

Your good word might tip the scales in favour of the
document moving forward.

Lee
