Interpretation processing will also need access to the Fortran 95
standard.

Please may I remind heads of delgations that have not already done so
to let me know the names of your attendees.

Best wishes,

Revised on 6 July 2000
Meeting in Oulu 14-18 August

The draft agenda (N1380) and meeting announcement (N1381) have been posted
by email and are available in the archive.

There will be three major items of business:

 A. Processing of interpretations of the Fortran 95 standard.

There are about 85 outstanding requests for interpretations in the J3
standing document 006 (alias N1393). Each needs to pass these stages:
   1. J3 meeting vote.
   2. J3 letter ballot.
   3. WG vote.
   4. If edits are involved, incorporation in a corrigendum.
At the moment, 17 are at stage 3 and a further 7 are at stage 2. WG5
will construct a draft corrigendum based on all items with edits that
have passed stage 3. It will also provide assistance to J3 in
processing the other items by constructing draft responses for
consideration at the next J3 meeting. Those attending the meeting will
need to make a copy of N1393 for accessing during the meeting. They
will also need access to the Fortran 95 standard.

 B. Review of the content of Fortran 2000

WG5 will review its plans for the content of Fortran 2000 (N1382) and
prepare a summary of the changes from Fortran 95. The list of possible
minor technical enhancements will be divided into three lists:
   1. Items to be included
   2. Items to be excluded
   3. Items at the discretion of J3
If any item in the list of required contents still needs technical
work, WG5 will provide assistance to J3 in this task.

  C. Review of the Fortran 2000 working draft
Instructions on accessing this are in N1391. Those attending the
meeting will need to make a copy of for accessing during the meeting.

13 June 2000
The two revised TRs pass their DTR ballots

PDTR 15580 (Exception Handling) and PDTR 15581 (Enhanced Data Types)
both passed their DTR ballots with flying colours. The votes were
identical. Each received 18 YES votes, no NO votes, no comments, 2
abstentions, and 6 'not yet voted'. They now go forward for publication.

1 June 2000
The revised part 2 of the Standard is published

The revised part 2 was published on June 1 as ISO/IEC FDIS 1539-2:2000(E).
