HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) was originally developed by Tim
Berners-Lee at CERN as part of his development of the World-Wide Web. It is
similar to SGML (Standardised Generic Mark-up Language) that had been
previously developed by ISO for documents. The secretary of the ISO
committee was, at that time, also at CERN and in a nearby office ...
