I've heard the statistic that more people are programming in Fortran
than ever before, and that a smaller fraction of programmers are
using Fortran than ever before.

One could pick which statistic one wants to use to justify a previously
held opinion concerning the continued activities of J3 and WG5.  (I don't
mean to imply that I know what Tim's previously held opinion is, or that
he has one.)
