Subject: Fortran part 3

I have received notification from ISO that the vote in the DIS ballot on
Part 3 of the Fortran Standard (Conditional Compilation) was 23-0 with 7
abstentions (18-0-6 of P-members). The DIS is now, therefore, an
International Standard and will, presumably, be published very shortly.

Austria and France accompanied their YES votes with a handful of minor
editorial comments. However, under current voting rules these are for
information only, but are sent to the Sub-committee, and thence to the
Working Group, in order that they can be taken into account if/when the
Standard is revised.

I will let everyone know when I hear that the Standard has actually been
published.
