To development body:

I have put a revised draft on my ftp server jkr.cc.rl.ac.uk
in the directory pub/wg5/strings.

The PostScript is in strings.ps.gz and my source is in strings.tssd.
I am not expecting you to work with TSSD. It is just that you may find
it useful for doing searches.

The changes since the previous version are

1. LEN, REPEAT, TRIM are no longer elemental.

2. Some cosmetic chnages to the Arguments section of SPLIT.

3. In Annex A, I now say that the module is available from
ftp.nag.co.uk/sc22wg5. I have asked Miles if this is OK.
As I recall, we decided to quietly reference an ftp
server and NAG's strikes me as perfectly suitable.

I want to get this all finished by the end of August. Will
you all please confirm that you have successfully downloaded
the file and tell me when to expect your comments.

Best wishes,

John.
