X3J3 & WG5:

At the end of the last X3J3 meeting in November Jerry Wagener and I were
talking about what we should do at this coming meeting for a social
event. Jerry suggested that we all try to get together at a restaurant
called Battista's Hole in the Wall. We made a reservation at that time
for Tuesday, February 11. We are currently scheduled to start the
dinner there at 5:00 p.m., but I am investigating whether that is
flexible to a later time. I have not been there, but according to Jerry
the food and the atmosphere are great. I spoke to their representative
last evening, and he said that the entrees vary from $15 to $25. There
will be a cash bar so that alcoholic beverages will be separate from the
dinner order. The average person spends about $25 there including tax,
17% gratuity. We will order off the menu, but for large groups, the
restaurant prefers that we only pay one bill. I am willing to handle
the money. Individuals can either keep track of their costs, or we can
simply take the total bill and divide it equally among ourselves.

Be prepared on Monday morning to let me know whether or not you want to
participate in the dinner, and what you think is the best way to handle
the meal payment. I'll try to send out another email tonight or
tomorrow about the time we have to be at the restaurant. Jerry was
concerned that we might be needing subgroup time until 5:30 p.m. or so.
Another alternative might be to go early to the restaurant (5:00 p.m.)
and then have more subgroup time in the evening after the dinner. Just
a thought. Give us your thoughts on Monday morning (or Sunday evening
if you are there at that time).
