Subject: IMPORTANT! Papers for Las Vegas

I have just placed seven papers on the WG5 server as follows:

N1237 Interoperability of Fortran and C - 3rd draft PDTR (Hennecke)
N1238 Report of WG5 data electronic subgroup (Zuern)
N1239 Report, HPC electronic subgroup (Kearfott)
N1240	Evaluation of Miscellaneous Requirements for Fortran 2000 (Weber)
N1244	Individual Comments regarding Miscellaneous Requirements - N1240
(Weber)
N1245	Syntax and Edits for Async I/O (Bleikamp)
N1246	Functional Specification for Derived Type I/O (Bleikamp)

Papers N1238, 1239 and 1240 are the reports of the three subgroups set up
in Dresden and will form the primary input for the subgroup work which will
occupy most of the first two days of the meeting.

Each subgroup will be required to use these reports as the basis for their
recommendations to the full WG on Wednesday morning, at which time we shall
determine which items should be added to the preliminary specification for
Fortran 2000 that was agreed in Dresden. THIS WILL BE THE LAST CHANCE TO
MODIFY THAT SPECIFICATION.

Paper N1244 contains the detailed comments submitted by members of the
Miscellaneous subgroup, and which led to the report contained in N1240.

Paper N1237 is the latest draft of the Interoperability Technical Report.
It will be discussed at a special meeting on Monday evening, at which a
recommendation to the whole WG will be agreed as to whether the document is
now ready for submission to SC22 for its first CD ballot, or whether some
other action is recommended; WG5 will discuss the recomendation(s) during
the initial processing of resolutions on Thursday.

Papers N1245 and N1246 arise from work already being carried out by X3J3,
following Dresden, and will be discussed during the second series of
subgroups on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

Please download these papers and read them carefully before the meeting.
