Dear Chuck,

I would like to distribute the enclosed announcement to all member
of hpff or at least to all European members. Would you be able
to arrange this for me?

Clemens

European Workshop on High Level Programming Models for Parallel Architectures

Announcement

In Europe several projects in the context of Esprit or other national
funding programs deal with automatic parallelization and partitioning
of sequential programs for distributed memory parallel architectures.
Several prototypes of such parallelization systems are already available.

In the US the High Performance Fortran Forum was founded in order to
find a common proposal for compiler directives and/or language extensions
in order to support the mapping of sequential programs onto parallel
architectures with complex memory structures like distributed memory
computers.

This workshop is intended to give an overview about the HPFF initiative
and its current state as well as the most recent European projects in
this area. Its intended to be a forum for discussions between the
different groups working in this area especially on the importance of
the High Performance Fortran Initiative for Europe.
