Subject: New documents on the server - FOR DRESDEN

I have put a number of new documents on the WG5 server, most of which are
of considerable importance for the forthcoming meeting in Dresden.

The documents are all in the LATEST-DOCS sub-directory and are numbered
from N1184 to N1197. (N1183, the draft module for the revised varying
string standard is there as well.) Their titles are as follows:

1183 Draft revised module for varying string standard
1184 Response to X3J3's TR-C Liaison Report, X3J3/96-106R1
1185 Discussion of MAP_TO and BIND interoperability
1186 High Performance Computing with Fortran 90: Qualifiers and Attributes
1187 Requirement for Cleaner & Producer in Fortran 90
1188 (French contribution)
1189 Repository of Requirements: 1996-06-20 version
1190 Disposition of Comments received in CD Ballot
1191 Fortran 95 DIS
1192 Proposed Part 3 of Fortran Standard (Conditional Compilation)
1193 Draft Technical Report on Parameterized Derived Types
1194 (Parameterized Derived Types - Report to WG5)
1195 Draft Technical Report for Floating-Point Exception Handling
1196 Draft Technical Report for Enhanced Derived Type Facilities in Fortran
1197 Removing nice assignment from Allocatable TR

Note that N1188 and N1194 are not yet available.

I would like to draw your attention to N1189 which is the final pre-Dresden
version of the Requirements Repository, and will be a key element in our
discussions about the content of Fortran 2000. This is quite a large
document (93 pages) and contains quite a number of new items. In view of
its size, the PostScript and Acrobat versions have been split into four
parts, each corresponding to 20-25 pages; these are called N1189a.ps,
N1189b.ps, etc.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A COPY OF THIS DOCUMENT PRIOR TO THE DRESDEN
MEETING.

I shall bring a single reference copy of these documents to Dresden, but
those attending the meeting should endeavour to obtain their own copies in
advance.

I should also draw your attention to N1191. ISO do not allow copies of a
DIS to be placed on a publicly accessible file server, as they claim the
copyright at the DIS stage. N1191, therefore, is simply a pointer to the
versions of X3J3/96-007r1 which are available on the X3J3 servers. These
are, I hope, identical to the DIS apart from headers, footers and line
numbers. X3J3/96-007r1 is, however, an internal X3J3 document and, as
such, is not subject to ISO restrictions regarding its availability!

See you (some of you, anyway!) in Dresden.

Miles
