Subject: Documents for Dresden

If anyone has any documents that they wish placing on the server prior to
the Dresden meeting, please send them to me no later than 12 noon GMT on
Wednesday 3rd July, as described in my earlier email.

Any documents that have not reached me by then should be brought to the
meeting, and an electronic version either sent to me or brought on a
diskette.

For the record, I append my earlier email regarding submission procedure.

------------------ Earlier email message re: WG5 server procedures ------------

I have been reorganising the ftp server slightly, and all documents from
N1135 now exist in PostScript, Acrobat and (where possible) ASCII forms.
All files over 8K in size are gzipped - this means all PostScript files,
most Acrobat ones, and the odd text one.

Moreover, I have changed the method of adding files to the server.

With immediate effect, all documents for distribution electronically should
follow the following procedure.

1. Get a number from me via email

2. Format the document so that it will fit on both A4 and US paper. The
easiest way to do this is to set the margins as follows:

A4: Top 1 inch or 2.54 cm
     Bottom 1.3 inches 3.3 cm
     Left 1 inch 2.54 cm
     Right 1 inch 2.54 cm

US: Top 0.8 inches 2.03 cm
     Bottom 0.8 inches 2.03 cm
     Left 1.1 inches 2.79 cm
     Right 1.1 inches 2.79 cm

If these margins are used for the appropriate size of paper then the
printed area will be 9.4 x 6.3 inches, or 23.9 x 15.9 cm, regardless of the
original paper size.

3. Save the document in PostScript form. Do not include fonts unless you
are using fonts other than the standard ones available on PostScript
printers.

4. Send the PostScript file (oreferably compressed using gzip) to my ftp
server at com1.etrc.ox.ac.uk/New_WG5_Papers (Note that the name is not
case sensitive).

In fact you will be logged in to the New_WG5_Papers folder (directory for
non-Macintosh types) within a folder called pub, but you should not specify
pub as anonymous ftp users are automatically connected to that folder as
the highest point they can reach in the directory tree.

Note that you can put new files, and get existing ones, but you cannot
delete or change anything. If you make a mistake you will need to send two
versions and let me know which one to use.

5. If possible, please also send a text (ASCII) version of the document as
well.

6. Send me an email message to say that you have put the document(s) on my
file server.

I will then create an Acrobat version from the PostScript file, and will
put all three (two if no text version is supplied) onto the official server
operated by NAG.

Any queries to me, please.
