Subject: Liaison report: exceptions TR

I would like to clarify the position re the exceptions draft Technical
Report. The latest version is dated 8 May and is available in my ftp
server
       jkr.cc.rl.ac.uk
in the file
       pub/wg5/procs.tr
I sent it to X3J3 on May 10.

I sent an extensive set of comments from Christian Weber to the
Development Body on May 13. They included a rewrite of sections 0-2,
but omitted section 3. This was taken by X3J3 as the position of the
Development Body. Therefore, several comments in the liaison report
are really comments to Christian rather than the Development Body. I
will, however, be preparing a revised version of the report to take
account of the views expressed, insofar as they refer to the May 8
version, as opposed to Christian's.

These revisions will not be very extensive. It is well worth anyone's
while to look at the present draft. Note in particular that it
contains a complete set of edits to the standard.

Best wishes,

John Reid.
