John Reid requested that X3J3 make a recommendation on whether to make the corresponding changes in corrigendum 3. The following is proposed as the X3J3 recommendation: Defect item 27 Most of the subject editorial changes for defect item 27 have already been incorporated into the current versions of the 006 and of the corrigendum 3 draft. Namely, the edits for subclause 13.13.13 have: 1. Deleted the two parenthetical phrases. 2. Deleted the "the" before POINTER. 3. Added commas after both occurances of the phrase "If POINTER is disassociated". We concur with these changes and suggest the following additional minor editorial change in the edits for subclause 13.13.13 4. Add commas after all 4 occurances of "Otherwise". This is consistent with usage elsewhere in the standard. Defect item 148 We suggest the following minor editorial changes to the text inserted in subclause 13.13.84. 1. Change the 3rd sentence of the inserted text from "The value specified by PUT need not be..." to "The value returned by GET need not be the same as the value specified by PUT in an immediately preceding reference to RANDOM_SEED." The original version stated this backwards; talking about whether the value specified in a PUT must be the same as a value returned in a subsequent GET suggests that we consider it plausible to require that the user be prescient. Correspondingly,... 2. Change the sentence "SEED1 need not equal SEED2." to "SEED2 need not equal SEED1." 3. Change the sentence "X1 equals X2." to "X2 equals X1". 4. Change "will" to "must" in the sentence beginning "When the values differ". Defect item 203 We suggest the following minor editorial change to the edit to subclause 14.5. 1. Delete the comma from the phrase added in section 14.5.
