Dear colleagues, When I returned to the office after Christmas my computer had decided that it no longer had a hard disk! For reasons that I shall not bore you with, it has taken until today to get the disk replaced, but it has proved impossible to recover anything from the old one. Unfortunately not everything was backed up!!!! I am able to recreate most of what was lost from one source or another, but one area that is impossible to recreate is old email messages. I have been using someone else's computer to check my mail for the last few weeks, but have only responded to the most urgent; I shall work my way through the outstanding messages over the next week or so (there are about 250!). So apologies to anyone who shaould have received a reply to email since Christmas. HOWEVER ..... All email messages received by me between about 5th October and 22nd December have been irretrievably lost. If you sent me any email during this period which was not replied to and/or that you feel I should have a copy of, I would be most grateful if you could send it to me again.
