Getting There

Brno is located within a two hours' driving distance from three European capitals: Prague, Vienna, and Bratislava. There are no flights from these cities to Brno but driving or taking a train or a bus are convenient options. A train ride from/to Prague takes about 3 hours, from/to Vienna about 3 and a half. Tickets sell for about 35 Euro and 12 Euro ($40 and $15), respectively.

Flying into the Brno airport (BRQ)

Brno Airport is a small international airport near Brno. This is a good option if you are coming from London (Luton or Stansted), Munich, or Eindhoven. From the airport (letiště in Czech), city bus E76 will take you to the city center (30 minutes) and drop you off next to the main train station (Hlavní Nádraží in Czech) and Student Agency bus stop. A cab ride will cost about 300 Czech Crowns (11 Euro, $14).

Getting to Red Hat Building TPB/B from City Center

Take tram line #12 to the final stop, Technology Park. From there, the Red Hat building (building B) is clearly visble and within walking distance.

A single use ticket costs 25 CZK (a little under 1 Euro or $1), a five day pass sells for 250 CZK (10 Euro, $12). Tickets can be purchased at vending machines near stops, at newstands, tobacconists and post offices, or at a nearby DPMB outlet. Tickets cannot be purchased on trams. After boarding a tram or a bus you must stamp your ticket (a weekly pass need not be stamped). Riding a tram or bus without a valid/stamped ticket is subject to fines.

Parking

Parking at Red Hat, Purkyňova Street, is free but the number of parking spots is limited. Taking public transit instead is recommended.

Check with your hotel for parking availability and rates there.
