SC22 Secretariat on this document NOT LATER THAN JULY 31, 1999.  These
comments will be consolidated by the Secretariat and distributed to SC22
for development of an SC22 response to ISO/IEC JTC 1.  This SC22 response
will be finalized and approved at the SC22 Plenary in September 1999.

Regarding reporting of accomplishments in JTC 1 Business Plans, in    
addition to numerical counts of documents approved, JTC 1 National    
Bodies and Subcommittees are requested to provide contributions detailing       
methods of measuring the effectiveness of JTC 1 accomplishments, e.g., press releases, implementations using JTC 1 standards.  The contributions should also provide suggestions for other metrics to indicate JTC 1's effectiveness.
