ISO has released the latest edition of the ISO/IEC Directives Part 1,
which governs much of our work. ISO has also made available apublic
PowerPoint presentation
<https://www.iso.org/resources/publicly-available-resources.html?t=WUVrVhPZuNUWOMg3vDDEMtSXlnpXmCcf-uCF7yTBb5m5S1dluyxJSlZF-YqCt88D&view=documents#section-isodocuments-top>
that highlights the changes. The changes I see that are relevant to us are:

  * Enhanced guidance on the use of Preliminary Work Items (PWI), which
    we are using to hold our place while we prepare F202Y. Once we
    declare and start a project, we have 36 months to publication, and
    we've been taking a bit longer than that due to the small committee.
    Having an approved PWI (which we now do) gives an additional cushion.
  * Committees can opt for a CD comment period of anywhere between 8 and
    16 weeks, with 8 the default
  * A National Body wishing to host a meeting shall "notify the CEO and
    committee secretariat concerned", and shall first ascertain that the
    country won't restrict any member from attending.

Steve
