Earlier this year, INCITS hardened its rule (quoted below) forbidding INCITS committee meetings to be held "in the same room and at the same time as a meeting from another organization even if there is substantial overlap in membership". When they first put forward this rule there was a process to apply for an exception, but now that option is gone. The way we are going to deal with this is as follows: J3 (INCITS/Fortran) is going to meet from 9AM Monday, June 24 through 12PM Thursday, June 27 (all times PT UTC-7). There will be a break for lunch, and WG5 will then meet from 1PM Thursday through 5PM Friday, June 28. The primary business at this meeting will be to firm up the feature list of Fortran 202Y. Most of the week's work will be done by J3, and then WG5 will discuss and vote on feature lists submitted by various national bodies. Most WG5 members who typically attend J3 meetings are also J3 members, so there's no problem with them attending the J3 meeting. Anyone who is NOT a J3 primary or alternate member, and who wishes to attend the J3 meeting as a guest, must notify Reuben in advance so that he can obtain permission from INCITS. Note that this also applies to virtual participants. All J3 guests will be required to "sign in" and "acknowledge they have read the INCITS Copyright Policy and the INCITS Antitrust Guidelines, and that they agree to follow INCITS policies and procedures."
