Hello all...

Those of you who are formally members of WG5 should have received
an email from ISO notifying you of the close of the ballot
approving N2191 as the Committee Draft for Fortran 202X. There
were comments from UK and Japan (JP: all editorial). The UK did
bring up the issue that the Protected Components feature (US19)
never got completed (I knew this) and J3 has not yet written a
paper requesting that this feature be deferred to the next
revision. We should have done that at J3 m226, but will do it for
the joint meeting in July as a reply to that comment.

I have put a copy of the ballot results and comments in the "WG5"
folder of Meeting Files at the J3 web site (only those with logins
to that site can see this - logins are restricted to J3 and WG5
      members.)

J3: For m227 we will need to pass papers in response to the JP
      editorial comments.

At this point, I'm comfortable with the notion that we can call
this language Fortran 2023 (the current Strategic Plan has us
publishing July 2023.) We can formally discuss this at the Boulder
      meeting.

I would also like everyone to start thinking about which
features, other than Generics and those deferred from F202X, you
would like to see in the next revision. I asked Ondrej to collate
suggestions from the "Github" and that is in progress. I will also
be going through papers we marked "deferred" and add those to a
      list of ideas.

As a reminder, the Boulder meeting is planned as "hybrid", with
accommodations as best as we can manage for virtual participation.
Sidd told us that NCAR, at present, is not allowing visitors, but
expects that will change before July. A "Local Arrangements" paper
      can be found at https://wg5-fortran.org/N2151-N2200/N2193.txt

Great work so far, everyone! I hope to see many of you in
      Boulder!
