ISO SC22 held its annual meeting earlier this week. There was
nothing directly impacting Fortran, but there were some items of
      interest.

First, there had been a concern earlier regarding ISO JTC1's
sliding three-month window for prohibiting in-person meetings.
This posed problems for large WGs that wanted to cancel venue
contracts farther out because they couldn't point to an ISO policy
giving them "air cover". So SC22 created their own policy doing
so. This was deemed no longer necessary, and JTC1's policy was now
sufficient, so SC22 resolved to remove the F2F restriction
      immediately.

Second, ISO has decided that Technical Reports (TRs) shall not
contain specifications nor recommendations. This posed a problem
for WG23, whose document was a TR (TR24772). In response, WG23
requested a new project to create a full standard containing the
work done by WG23. Furthermore, they requested that this become a
"Freely Available Standard". SC22 is submitting this request to
      JTC1.

Gary K was the US Head of Delegation, so he might have more to
      add.
