WG5 members:

I received today an update from ISO on various changes they are making.
Few affect us directly, but I did want to call your attention to this one:

---

Changes to ISO Meetings – Post-meeting surveys and Registration

Background: The TMB has decided (TMB Resolutions 28/2019 and 29/2019) to
extend 2 of the
functionalities of the ISO Meetings application to Working Groups (WGs):

Post-meeting surveys: In 2013 the TMB decided to create meeting feedback
surveys for technical
committees and subcommittees to give meeting participants the option of
providing feedback. The
surveys  were  initially  managed  through  SurveyMonkey  before being
incorporated  in  the  ISO
Meetings tool in 2017. These surveys provide the opportunity to collect
valuable feedback, not only
on how the meeting was run, but also on the performance of committee
leadership. To further support
WGs management and harmonize the monitoring of all ISO meetings
performance, the TMB has now
decided to extend the ISO Meetings feedback survey mechanism to WGs as well.

Registration:  Following  feedback  received  from  committee leaders,
late  registration  to
physical Working Group (WG) meetings after registration deadlines can
raise safety and logistical
issues. The TMB has decided to request ISO/CS to improve the ISO
Meetings application so that WG
meeting participants can no longer register past the meeting deadline.

What this means for  you:  Are you  a committee manager? Please ensure
that  your committee
convenors and experts are aware of these changes, and encourage meeting
participants from all your
meetings to complete the post-meeting surveys – the surveys provide you
with the opportunity to
collect valuable feedback. Are you participating in a WG? Please ensure
you remember to register
for your meeting in ISO Meetings when you receive notification that
registration has been opened.
After your meeting you will receive a notification inviting you to
complete the post-meeting survey
– don’t forget to use this opportunity to give your feedback! For any
questions or feedback on these
new functionalities please contact helpdesk@iso.org.

There have been some questions regarding registration on the ISO site
for the Tokyo meeting. Many of you have registered there, but if you are
considering attending and have not yet registered, I'd encourage you to
do so. You will need to log in to the ISO site with your own login, not
that of an organization. The meeting link is
https://sd.iso.org/meetings/53331  The registration deadline is July 22,
but Makki needs to know sooner how many hotel rooms from the reserved
block should be held open, so if you're not already registered as
attending or haven't confirmed with Makki that you need a hotel room,
please write Makki (takata@edogawa-u.ac.jp) and let him know if you will
be needing a room. I understand that some of you may be waiting on
travel approval, so this isn't a commitment, but it would be very
helpful to Makki. Thanks.

Steve
