Hello falks,

The official Local Arrangements document, N2163, for the joint WG5/J3
meeting in Tokyo will shortly be ready, but you would need information
as soon as possible. Here it is.

1. Venue

Three meeting rooms are ready in the University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus,
as announced before.

2. Accommodation

A block of rooms is reserved for August 3-11 at the following hotel,
which is in five minutes from the venue.

        Forest Hongo
        https://www.forest-hongo.com/en/

To get the proper discount, you need to do your reservation through me.
If you choose to stay at this hotel, please send me your request with:
- your name(s)
- check-in/check-out dates
- preferred room type, and
- need of breakfast.

Special Room Rates (tax incl.):
- Single B (1 pers.): 10,300 yen/night/room
- Single B (2 pers.): 14,094 yen/night/room
- Deluxe Single (1 pers.): 17,210 yen/night/room
- Deluxe Single (2 pers.): 18,954 yen/night/room
- Deluxe Single (2 pers. adding a sofa bed): 19,926 yen/night/room
- Twin (2 pers.): 21,384 yen/night/room
- Universal Twin (2 pers.): 21,384 yen/night/room
Buffet Breakfast (tax incl.): 1,200 yen/person

Your request will be treated in first-come-first-served manner. If
your preferred room type has run out by the time, we will ask you what
to do; change the type, stay at a suggested hotel nearby, or else.

Payment should be done at the hotel. Major credit cards including
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners are acceptable.

The sizes of rooms and beds are shown on the web. I looked at a couple
of rooms, and found them clean, cozy, and nice. Note that the "bath"
is Japanese style and narrow, except for Universal Twin, and should
rather be used as a shower booth. The Universal Twin room is designed
also for wheel chair users, and hence its spacious bathroom is a bonus.
Photos and a plan of it are shown on the hotel's Japanese page:
https://www.forest-hongo.com/guestroom/

3. Transportation

You can find information in N2163, and I would not repeat it here.

4. Invitation letter

If you need an official invitation from us, you must be registered as
a committee member of WG5 on the ISO Global Directory. If so, just
tell me your proper name for this purpose with an appropriate title
(Mr./Ms./Dr./Prof.). An invitation letter will be given by the name
of Hidetoshi Iwashita, Convenor of the Japanese National Committee for
ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 22/WG 5, and issued by JISC, Japanese Industrial
Standards Committee.

Feel free to ask me anything you need, though my ability is limited.
I am looking forward to seeing you in Tokyo.

Kind regards,

Makki
