The recent pattern has been even number= ed years in North America. 2018 is still pretty far in the future, so there= is no real urgency. =20 The idea of SF/Oakland/Berkeley came up in the context of a reunion meeting= . For the newbies, the reunion is for past members of the committee to get = together with each other and the current members, and is nice to combine wi= th a celebration of the publication of a new standard. 2018 should (hopefu= lly) be a safe date for F2015 publication being done. Besides the attract= ion of NERSC, a lot of the J3/WG5 alumni live in or near California, so we= could expect a good turnout. (And, the bay area has good airline connecti= ons and hotel options - practical considerations for an international meeti= ng.) =20 I would expect that Toon, Reinhold, Daniel, Makki, Ian, and Jane will all b= e at the meeting in August. They all have excellent track records hosting r= ecent meetings outside Las Vegas , and would be good sources of information= on the work involved. =20 Cheers, Bill On May 26, 2015, at 6:49 PM, Damian Rouson w= rote: >=20 >=20 >> On May 26, 2015, at 3:42 PM, Bill Long wrote: >>=20 >>=20 >> The next unscheduled WG5 meeting is in 2018. =20 >=20 > What=92s the next step?
