He didn't write that he was getting diagnostics.  He wrote that he "just
learned that at least some compilers will no longer support the
arithmetic IF statement."  I interpret this to mean that he read a press
release (or equivalent) from some compiler producer(s) about future
plans (if indeed arithmetic IF is removed in 2015).
