Hi All,

In reply to my comment on the Japan situation in an interop TR email,
Makki replied with the following (reassuring) message. Forwarding to
the interop TR list, and the WG5 list. Sorry for duplicates.

Cheers,
Bill

Bill, I sent this message to interop-tr list on Friday, but it seemed not
to be delivered. Could you forward it for me, if it still make sense to
do so. Thank you. -- Makki

Bill and all,

Sorry this is off topic.

I didn't tell many of you that Yoko and I were not affected at all. Since
the big shock, there have been many earthquakes, not necessarily
aftershocks,
here and there. But, we were born to live in such a country. We are care-
fully watching TV, but are fairly calmed down now.

So far, Minoru Tanaka, Kazuo Nishimura and Ichiro Homma posted messages to
our local mailing list, just for normal work necessity. Nobody seems to
be too much concerned of damages of other members, because there were few
serious damages in Tokyo, where majority of us live.

My university in Chiba Prefecture was slightly damaged. The building, in
which my room is, has cracks now. The ITSCJ office seems to have no impact.

I made a contact to Malcolm in Australia. He is, of course, all right.

Praying for the suffering people in North East Japan...

Regards,

Makki
