I agree that the international meetings should not be held in Las Vegas. Th=

US is far more convenient for me personally (cost, visa issues, etc.), and =

lot of people are from the US, so I would say 2/3 should be in the US and 1=
/3=20
abroad. We should try to attract more international (non US or UK) attendee=
s=20
to these meetings, and also not so easily reject generous offers from=20
potential hosts. While travel to Japan is expensive, London appears more so=
,=20
and I thus don't see the difference, as long as every attempt is made to ke=
ep=20
the meeting costs low (finding more affordable housing etc.). Also the time=
=20
of the meeting probably makes the biggest difference by affecting the trave=
l=20
costs (August being the worst!).
Is it possible to defer the offer until two meetings after London, so we ha=
ve=20
one US in-between. That is a lot of advance planning, but it is a compromis=
e.
