Dear WG5,

Thanks to all of you who responding to my request for comments on the date of
the 2005 meeting. The end of July is impossible for Steve and Dan commented that
it was a bad time with respect to air fares.

Since sending my request, I have been thinking about a timetable for the next
standard and have come to the conclusion that it would be better from that point
of view to move the meeting forward by 3 months. I will send my draft timetable
in a separate message. Moving the meeting forward will help with air fares, of
course.

Dan suggested the possibility of a joint meeting in May in the Netherlands. The
Dutch are willing to host a meeting 11-15 April for WG5 or 9-13 May for WG5/J3,
but say that the number of participants should be limited to about 20. We had 15
participants last year in Dresden, which was a WG5 meeting. A combined WG5/J3
meeting might yield more, though I would be very (agreeably) surprised if we had
more than 20.

Mainly for this reason, my preferance is for a WG5 meeting 11-15 April. What do
the rest of you think? We can make the final decision at the May meeting, but I
also need to hear from those who will not be there.

Best wishes,

John.
